What a very unusual blog! The photographs are a pictorial history! Oh yes, and there are shadows too.
No smiles, but a delightful photo. The sun was in their eyes. I remember my mother taking pictures and always insisting the sun must be at her back, which meant it was always in my eyes.
I now see the shadows in every picture, even in the movies I watch…have our eyes been so unaware…
Such interesting pictures..great picks..Happy SSS..
It’s a great photo! even without smiles! I was looking at some old photos of my relatives the other day and guess what? not a smile there either! Well, it was the 20s, maybe there wasn’t much to smile about. They may say that about photos taken of us these days??? Thanks for sharing and Happy SSS!
Oh…..those kids are just thinking of getting out of those clothes and into their swimwear to jump into the lake….it’s probably a family reunion….and Aunt Mable won’t let them go until they take 1 more picture! HA! Great picture!
What a cool blog! Love the vintage photos!
No smiles, but a lot of squinting …
They are a serious bunch. Maybe they were not so much unhappy as intrigued by either the process of being photographed or the photographer. Just a thought.
I just LOVE vintage photos… I can sit and look at my grandmother’s for HOURS at a time!
